ASTM A1020 is a type of Cold-Drawn Seamless (CDS) steel tube material suitable for heat exchangers and boilers. Its production and performance comply with ASTM standards, featuring excellent toughness, weldability, and corrosion resistance, which enables it to meet the operating requirements of heat exchange and boiler systems.
 
Material and Specifications
The base material of this product is low-carbon structural steel, which is manufactured into seamless tubes through the Cold-Drawn Seamless (CDS) process. The cold-drawing process ensures the tubes have high dimensional accuracy and a smooth surface finish. In terms of specifications, the outer diameter typically ranges from 1/2 inch to 6 inches (approximately 12.7 mm to 152.4 mm), and the wall thickness is selected within the range of 0.083 inch to 0.5 inch (approximately 2.1 mm to 12.7 mm) according to design requirements, making it adaptable to equipment with different pressure and temperature grades.
 
Chemical Composition
The chemical composition of ASTM A1020 steel tubes must meet the following requirements, with strict control over elements such as carbon and manganese to ensure the material's processability and stability:

Mechanical Properties

At room temperature, the mechanical properties of ASTM A1020 cold-drawn seamless steel tubes must meet the following indicators to ensure they can withstand pressure and loads during installation and service:

Yield Strength ≥ 240 MPa (35,000 psi)
Elongation in 2 inches (50 mm) ≥ 25%
